The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We are closed to the public on weekdays. We're an all-volunteer group and need advance notice to schedule appointments, therefore weekday appointments are available to schedule for adoption applicants only. The adoption process begins by submitting an adoption application (link found below). We do not adopt same-day, no exceptions. Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the animal first. Tessie would love a foster home away from the excitement of the fast-paced adoption center. A foster home could provide Tessie with one-on-one socialization like she would receive in a real home, and more socialization than the adoption center may provide. She's vet-estimated at 6 to 8 years old (as of April xxxx). Tessie is an owner-surrender who couldn't care for her any longer and needed to find Tessie a better home. That's our aim! Tessie is still getting used to being at our adoption center, but we're already in love! She's a mellow, mild-mannered and low-energy girl who's full of lots of love and companionship. She's submissive around other cats. Tessie could do well as an only pet or with other cats, but we don't recommend her in a home with dogs. Negative for FIV/FeLK, current on vaccinations and spayed. Tessie is looking for a person to spend time with her and help her feel like part of a family again, so please stop by our adoption center or contact us to meet her!
